Road Safety Week: 14th - 18th June 2010 |
|

A whole school learning journey formed the core of a highly successful road safety week. With tremendous support from the police, our travel plan group, our school travel advisor and crossing patrol officer, and not forgetting Freddie the Fox, all the children had lots of fun learning more about keeping safe when travelling.

Many of the classes undertook pedestrian training, the police visited every day to talk with children and parents. All the children in Year 5 took part in a walking bus world record attempt. Children in Years 3 & 6 made road safety films. The week ended with an exhibition showing all that the children had learned during the week. This was very well attended by parents and our neighbours.

We are very proud of the number of after-school clubs and activities on offer at St Anne's. Last term we added another art club, run by experienced artist and teacher Jane Butler, and supported by the Chipstead Decorative and Fine Arts Society. This club is also featured on their website: click here to see.
Each week the children are guided to produce an impressive piece of art, using a range of media and materials. Below are just a few examples of the quality of artwork they produce.
